Health & Safety Policy

Kestrel Electrical Systems Limited as a company is fully committed to Health & Safety and our Policy has been compiled and administered by our Managing Director Mr N Knowles and our Health and Safety advisor, who holds NEBOSH, IOSH, OHSAS and COSHH Assessors.

All of our engineers and apprentice engineers have been trained in safe working procedures and hold the Joint Industry Board certificate in Safety. A number of our engineers also hold Health & Safety certificates for site Supervisor’s, which is administered by the Electrical Contractors Association.

All engineers are specifically trained and qualified in working at heights from scaffolding or ladders, a number are also trained and qualified in the use of mechanical elevated work platforms (cherry pickers and scissor lifts). All access equipment (ladders steps and towers) used by Kestrel Electrical Systems Limited is tested and certified periodically.

Electrical tools are either low voltage or battery powered and are also inspected and certified periodically in accordance with IEE code of practice recommendations.

Kestrel Electrical Systems operate a Near Miss reporting policy, where potential hazards are reported and investigated to prevent an accident occurring. Any accident that occurs is investigated thoroughly and if the accident occurs on a client’s property a copy of the report is also sent to them.

All materials that may be hazardous in use are COSHH assessed and information provided to Kestrel Electrical Systems Limited engineers for its safe use and storage.

All our engineers carry personal First Aid Kits and four of our staff are fully qualified in first aid procedures.

All Kestrel Electrical Systems Limited engineers carry a safety information folder, which details all of their safety qualifications and appropriate safety information.

Health & Safety is an important issue within Kestrel Electrical Systems Limited, compliance ensures the safety of our staff, our customers premises and their staff.
